MICROBLADING | What is it?
Micro blade, Microblading is a method that has been mentioned quite often lately. I wanted to share my experience considering the fact it’s relatively new in the beauty world and also I haven’t heard many with darker skin tones going through the procedure.
So hi my name is Connie… and I have no eyebrows, okay that’s a lie, but I have very fine hairs and these were most noticeable with my eyebrows. Being a mum of two I often found my self spending 5-10 minutes every morning perfecting my the pair. This is 2017, nobody is here for unfleeky eyebrows, so the pressure to make the pop is prominent. With getting myself ready for work and one kid ready for school and another for nursery, I honestly don’t have the time to be penciling in, highlighting and gelling facial features to last for the day. So microblading popped up I researched it and it seemed like a dream.
I booked my appointment after researching and looking at the beauticians past work. I loved the way the microblading made the eyebrows and natural. Basically I did not want to end up with spouse brow, so I searched and searched for pictures of what shape I wanted and look. I showed Yasmine these for reference.
This procedure was almost painless. A numbing cream is applied but not too much.
After childbirth and a few tattoos I can understand my pain threshold is quite high, but in all honestly the only time I felt discomfort was during the last step (the part were I have weird brows) when the ink is out of the blading to set in. Otherwise the pain was bearable it was a light scratch.
The brows were a good full shape. Other than avoiding water for ten days and consistently applying bepanthen or natural oil to avoid the scabbing. There was not much that I had to do. The eyebrows healed well.
A top up is recommended if you return within 8 weeks and this gives you a chance to alter the shape a little if you wish and if you feel comfortable to thicken or darken.
I am converted I would definitely do this again. It’s time saving easy to maintain and well worth the money. You do not know how many eyebrow products I have bought and how many eyebrow tutorials I watched, to only get to 3pm and have rubbed off my half my eyebrow. Sigh.
Don’t hesitate to book your appointment and just remember to research.
