Lets talk Denim dresses- To be quite frank, I’ve actually always been against denim dresses especially in summer! Personally they were reminiscent of an outdated farm girl almost lazy feel, the dungaree’s cousin, twice removed, and because of this they have had a pretty bad rep, yet my opinion that has changed in the past year. I do no not know whether its due to Levi’s shirt dress, that I never bought and will now never find again due to it being sold out, but since then I have always trying to compensate for my loss. I am stopping myself from Buying denim dresses in abundance. No one wants a repetition of Britney and Justin circa 2001. As the denim trend has been been reworked into different styles, I have had to stop myself from adding all to my wish list.
This denim dress of choice has a synched in waist and an attached circle belt that flatters your shape I am not usually a #mangogirl but recently I have been appreciating their simple and chic aesthetic especially when it comes to summer dressing.
I opted for metallic boots a bright red lip and a cute beret for a Parisienne feel. I also have a similar dress, but listen its longer so its okay, don’t judge me.
The thing that I love about denim dresses, especially for summer they can be styled in so many ways and give you completely different look. You throw them on with no thought and your style is communicated through the accessories you adorn. If I had paired this with tanned sandals and a printed scarf it would have a Mediterranean feel. I can also pair this with vans and a light parka or duster coat and again a completely different look.
The denim dress is so versatile and I think this one in particular was definitely worth the price tag I paid as I will be wearing it so much through summer and possibly autumn. How would you style a denim dress let me know in the comments below?
