It’s that time of the year when the air goes cooler, and you need to find the perfect transitional pieces for autumnal weather. Family style isn’t easy to capture, (thanks Morgane) nor organise. With so many personalities it’s always hard to get the kids to wear what I want them to, especially since Logan is now an avid user of the word ‘No!’
That’s why I love it when I find a brand that allows me to shop not only for myself but also grab some goodies for the kids at the same time. Therefore when I saw Next’s new collection, I couldn’t resist grabbing my self some autumnal pieces for not just myself but Chiara and Logan too.
With the change in seasons and after a few fashion weeks, I am currently loving bright colours, monochrome looks and dark florals…..basically everything! How could I not when summer staples turn a little darker and fall into autumn. A great mix and match of classic trends for Aw17 as previously shown in looks for fall post!
For Chiara’s first look, I couldn’t skip past this dress, the colours the print and the tiers caught my attention. It is the perfect winter midi, I wish they made this dress in my size! The long sleeves make it perfect for winter dressing, and luckily it was warm enough for Chiara to not need a jacket. She teamed it up with these black knee high boots, which she adores and was estactic when she opened the parcel.
Speaking of jackets the checked blazer is a trend piece that is not disappearing any time soon. I’m glad there is a mini version and I think despite all the trends it’s quite a classic that looks great when paired with simple jeans and white sneakers.
I am a sucker for cable knit sweaters! It’s that quintessential English look, that encompasses traditional and classic yet laid back so well. This yellow puffer coat is such a crowd pleaser and is always complimented whenever he wears it.
I love an all monochrome look and my own outfit was highly influenced by Maxmara’s AW17 catwalk. This boucle coat is so cosy, the perfect transitional piece. Light yet warm and can be thrown over any outfit to give it a great finish. When I saw this rust colour I knew it was perfect for transitional autumnal weather, the colour just reminds me of a dying leaf (lol). I love that these pieces look great together or individually. The rust skirt would be great with a grey sweater too. The rust sweater looks great with jeans. So many ways to mix it up.
What do you think of all the looks? Let me know if you shop from Next’s autumn collection, and which pieces you buy.
